ADAS Recalibration Services

What is ADAS windscreen recalibration?

Vehicles nowadays come fitted with standard advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). At PG Glass, we are experts in ADAS recalibration, a crucial step after a windscreen replacement on a vehicle with these systems.

Mostly located or mounted on the windscreen, these front-facing camera sensors detect objects, cars, pedestrians or obstructions in your car’s forward view and gauge distance between your car and these objects or obstructions. These systems are what enable key safety features like:

  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Automatic high beams
  • Lane keeping assist
  • Lane departure warning
  • Forward-collision warning

It is important to calibrate the ADAS system back to its OEM specification after a windscreen replacement to ensure proper functioning of the system.

Sensor recalibration

Because the forward-facing camera and sensors are located directly on the windscreen, a windscreen replacement carries the risk of a slight misalignment that can severely affect the system’s performance. Even a small misalignment of just a few millimeters can be the difference between a vehicle avoiding a collision or not.

That’s why professional recalibration by a certified technician is essential after any windscreen replacement.

Our network of nearly 50 Specialised Fitment Centres is equipped with state-of-the-art BOSCH technology and staffed by accredited technicians ready to perform ADAS recalibration. This guarantees the safe and efficient functioning of the ADAS system.

At PG Glass, all our technicians are fully accredited and authorized to work on ADAS-equipped vehicles and to recalibrate windscreens according to OEM specifications.

Why ADAS recalibration is important.

Don’t Take a Chance with Your Safety

A misaligned ADAS camera can be the difference between avoiding a collision and not. To show you just how crucial proper recalibration is, Belron International conducted a research test demonstrating the dangers of a car with an un-recalibrated camera versus one that has been professionally recalibrated.

Watch the video demonstrating the dramatic difference, highlighting why this non-negotiable post-windscreen replacement step must be performed in a controlled environment by trained and accredited technicians.

Recalibration

About ADAS Recalibration:

At PG Glass, we are experts in ADAS recalibration, a crucial step after a windscreen replacement on a vehicle with Advanced Driver Assistance systems like forward-collision warning (which alerts you to potential front-end collisions), lane keeping assist (which helps you stay centred in your lane), and adaptive cruise control (which automatically adjusts your speed to maintain a safe distance from the car in front).

Our certified technicians are fully equipped to perform both static and dynamic recalibration on any vehicle, ensuring your safety systems function exactly as the manufacturer intended.

We’ve integrated this critical service into our process, making it a seamless part of every windscreen replacement where ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) are present.

Dynamic Recalibration

This applies to dynamic ADAS and calibration that is carried out with the use of a hand-held device plugged directly into the car. In most cases, the vehicle will then need to be driven at a prescribed speed over a certain distance in optimum weather conditions, to allow the system to become accustomed to certain road features. Often the vehicle manufacturer will stipulate specific parameters for calibrating of their dynamic ADAS.

Static Recalibration

This applies to static ADAS and calibration is carried out in a workshop environment on a level surface. This form of recalibration requires specialist equipment like the CSC (Camera and Sensor Recalibration) Tool. Each car manufacturer requires different recalibration settings for their Static ADAS.

Your safety is our priority. Schedule your ADAS recalibration with one of our certified technicians to ensure your vehicle’s safety systems are working perfectly.

How long does ADAS recalibration take?

The process typically takes about 30-60 minutes, but this can vary depending on your vehicle’s make and model.

How much does ADAS recalibration cost?

The cost is determined by your specific vehicle. Please contact us for a quote.

Do I have to bring my car to you?

Yes, static recalibration must be performed in one of our specialized Fitment Centres to ensure a level and controlled environment.

It isn’t worth the risk. Let the professionals handle it.

Even the smallest misalignment can lead to major issues, which is why recalibration isn’t just a nice-to-have – it is critical for safety. With our accredited technicians and advanced equipment, you can rest easy knowing your vehicle is in safe hands.
