Polar Plunge 2017

Each year on the morning of 21st June, the POLAR PLUNGE takes place in Grahamstown. This wacky event, which celebrates the end of the winter solstice, has Grahamstown citizens jumping into the local Grey Dam for a (for most) high speed 25m swim in the icy waters. Whilst the water temperature was not measured, the outside temp was a chilly 3.5*.

Each year PG Glass Grahamstown is on hand to supply cups of hot chocolate to freezing swimmers and spectators alike. Everyone is encouraged to bring “an item of warmth” to donate to our PG Helping Hand programme. These items are included in our monthly PG Cares distribution. The June distribution takes place on Friday 30 June.

We care about the shareholders and communities within which we operate.
